Project Overview:

Our client wanted a classic, elegant, serene and spa like master bathroom. We transformed it using a neutral color pallet of soft green, grays and white. Custom cabinetry in a timeless design provides great storage and organization. A freestanding soaking tub and crystal chandelier for ambient light sure feels luxurious.

Design Challenges

My clients master bathroom was outdated and they wanted to totally renovate the twenty-year-old design. They had storage issues, and the soaking tub was too big so that tub water got cold too quickly. The client’s teenage girls like to share their Mom’s stuff so we had lots of products and makeup to hide and organize! The husband wanted a shower with lots of jets. They were also looking to lighten the colors and and get a spa-like retreat.

Mary Jo’s Solutions

I referred a local contractor to look at the project and the client hired him. I worked closely with the contractor to modify the footprint of the room slightly. We replaced the dark cabinets with new white cabinets. We replaced the single sink on the one wall to a double cabinet and sink by removing a wall and the old, small linen closet.  Then we added a new tall center cabinet between the sinks. We removed the old single vanity station that was across the room and used that space to provide a new built-in larger linen/storage closet that matched the new cabinets. The shower was outfitted with a rain-style showerhead and powerful jets.

I selected a color palette for the tiles and walls in soft green/grays & white to achieve the spa like feel. We added new lighting and topped it off with crystal chandelier to bring in some elegance. To finish the new bath I added accessories from our suppliers with new fluffy towels, cushy bath rugs, a soft furry bench, accent table, artwork and candles.
